UNIONVILLE, MO -- It is almost time once again for annual family fun in Unionville.

The 73rd Annual Putnam County Fair is coming up next week, running from September 4-8.

This year, you can expect many changes, but good ones.

The demolition derby is being moved to Saturday night this year, and organizers are adding a second tractor pull event to get a bigger turnout. The other one will be on Friday.

Nashville night will be on Thursday evening with singer John Anderson.

The 4-H and FFA livestock shows will all be on Wednesday to make room for a cattle show on Thursday.

Board members say it was time for a change in the fair's lineup.

"We felt like we had the same thing going on for several years. It was a good opportunity to try and make some changes and accommodate things people asked us about in the past. I think this will help get many interested, especially the younger crowd," said Putnam County Fair Board Member Joe Koenen.

Also, new to the mix this year is a dog show.

Carnival rides and the fair food will of course still be there.
