Edith Davis celebrates her 100th birthday
KIRKSVILLE, MO. -- Edith Davis rang in her 100th birthday Thursday morning at Fjeld Arms Apartments with family, friends and neighbors.
Local officials even turned out to wish Davis a happy birthday. The mayor presented her with the key to the city, and Sheriff Hardwick brought her a card.
For Davis, her key to living this long is just having an appreciation of life, and having so many great people around her. "I just enjoyed life all these years," Davis said. "I have such good doctors for little things that have ailed me, and everybody has just been so good to me."
The party doesn't stop for Davis though, Sunday afternoon she'll have another celebration. However, that will be a smaller gathering with a lot of her family attending.
