KIRKSVILLE, MO -- The First Baptist Church in Kirksville got a special treat Sunday morning as pianist Tim Parton of Kansas City threw a little piano concert for them.

Parton has been playing the piano since he was six years old thanks to the inspiration of his father, who also was a musician.

Raised in a christian family, Parton wanted to spread his love of god through playing the piano with a mixture of gospel, jazz, and classical music. He's been playing for the past 30 years.

Parton said the best thing is to see the smiles on the crowd's faces.

"My whole purpose is to encourage people and to remind them that God loves them," Parton said. "So anything I can do to remind them of that and when they see that to know they are loved by God, it's a home run."

The congregation was left in amazement as Parton's fingers graced the keyboard.

Parton hopes to return for another performance in Kirksville soon.
