When officers arrived, they observed Kerry Derby and 39-year-old Todd Dean Schultz, of an unknown residence in Ottumwa. Schultz fled the scene on foot, and officers apprehended him close by.

During the search, police discovered evidence that lead to a second warrant. Lieutenant Tom McAndrew told KTVO he cannot yet reveal what evidence was taken from the home.

Kerry was arrested and charged with posession of marijuana, enhanced to a Class D Felony. Schultz was arrested on two outstanding warrants, one for Theft in the 5th Degree in Wapello County, the other for Burglary in the 3rd Degree in Monroe County.

Both men are being held in the Wapello County Jail on a $5,000 bond.

Lt. McAndrew said more charges are expected.
