KIRKSVILLE -- Wednesday morning was the first day of classes for the Kirksville R-3 School District.
Teachers and staff members have been working hard the last few weeks getting the classrooms ready for students. For some it was just the start of another year, but for the younger kids it was their first time spending time away from home. But for some parents, it meant an empty house.
“The kids were mostly excited to get back to school and see their friends. The only advantage for me, really, is I don’t have any daycare to pay now,” said Kirksville Parent Dana Buster.
Students and staff say they are excited and ready for the new year and all it has to offer.
