JEFFERSON CITY, MISSOURI -- Missouri student achievement continues to rise, at least according to the latest results of Missouri Assessment Program (MAP) testing.

The latest numbers from the state Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, show the overall percentage of students scoring at the proficient or advanced levels, are continuing to increase. Especially notable gains were made by English language learners and Hispanic students in communication arts and math.

Overall, students improved from 54.6% to 55% proficient or advanced in communication arts and 54.3% to 55% in math.

The map test scores and other measures are used to develop each school district's annual performance report.
