Motorcycle accident sends one to the hospital

GOLDSBERRY, MO -- A Moberly man was involved in a motorcycle accident in Macon County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident happened on Highway 149 near Goldsberry late Friday evening.

Casimir Shimek, 35, of Moberly was traveling northbound when he tried to avoid small animals in the roadway. While doing so, he fell off of his motorcycle.

Shimek was transported to Samaritan Hospital in Macon with moderate injuries. A spokesperson with the hospital told KTVO Saturday that Shimek has been released.
