KIRKSVILLE, MO -- People across the country Thursday are getting a treat and helping kids at the same time.
Dairy Queen locations nationwide including the one in Kirksville are participating in the 7th Annual Miracle Treat Day.
All locations are donating one dollar or more from every Blizzard Treat sold to the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals.
"It's just something that they felt they could help kids. We've just always helped them out," said Kirksville Dairy Queen Owner Glenda Swanson.
Swanson said they always look forward to this event every year knowing that they're giving back to the community.
"We help kids. I've got 19 grandkids and 6 great-grandkids of my own. I love kids so it's a chance to give back and give kids some support," Swanson said.
The Children's Miracle Network raises funds for 170 hospitals across the U.S.
If you want to help out, just make sure you buy any size Blizzard at the Kirksville Dairy Queen before 10 Thursday night.
