Techel trial date set

AGENCY, IOWA -- A southeast Iowa man accused of killing his pregnant wife now knows when he will face justice.

According to Iowa Online Court records, the trial of Seth Andrew Techel of Agency will begin on November 6, 2012.

District Court Judge Dan Wilson signed the order on Monday.

Techel is facing one count of 1st-Degree Murder and one count of Non-Consensual Termination of a Human Pregnancy in the shooting death of Lisa Marie Techel.

Police were called to Techel home in Agency early in the morning of May 27, 2012.

There they found Lisa Techel dead from a shotgun blast.

Seth Techel, who had been married to Lisa for less than a year, was arrested later that week.

At the time of her death, Lisa Techel was a Wapello County Sheriff's reserve force and worked at the Washington County Jail.

If convicted of 1st-Degree Murder, Techel would receive an automatic life sentence.

He remains in custody on a $750,000 cash only bond.
