KIRKSVILLE, MO. -- Despite the tragedy at an Aurora, Colo., movie theatre, moviegoers were lining up in Kirksville to see the local premiere of  "The Dark Knight Rises."

Since there was no midnight showing in Kirksville, a number of people waited outside Friday to get into the 1:40 p.m. showing.

Although the shooting was fresh in their minds, many weren't too hesitant to attend the Kirksville showing.

"No hesitation for me to come out here to watch this movie," said Kirksville resident Tony Miller. "It's going to be a good movie. I'm pretty stoked to see it. I don't think they're [other people in line] phased by it either, but this is a small town. I don't really see anything like that happening."

"It didn't really affect my decision any to see the movie," said Lancaster resident John Sullivan. "I'm a fan of the Batman series. I'm a fan of all superhero movies, so I was going to come regardless."

"No, we're in a small town. Everybody knows each other," said Green City resident Randy Jasso. "I don't think anything could happen. I don't know where'd they run, the police station is up the corner. I think we feel safe right now.

"I was very excited for this movie. I was still going to go, but I thought twice about it," said St. Louis resident Greg Haueisen."It really is one of those things that everyone is going to go see. I was really excited to see it. If it happened there, it could happen here."

KTVO talked to others in the group off camera and many said they were shocked to hear of the tragedy, but were still going to the movie.
