Sixteenth Macon resident arrested in drug sweep

MACON, MO. -- Police have made the final arrest in “Operation Have Wave,” a lengthy drug investigation that began in late 2011. Tassie Leatherman, 27, of Macon, has been charged with one count of distributing a controlled substance from public housing.

Bond has been set at $25,000 cash only, and she remains in custody.

The Macon County Sheriff’s Office has arrested 16 people since July 12h and the initial drug sweep.

"Back in late 2011, we secured some funding through our County Restitution Fund for undercover drug buys, and we've been busy working on the project since that time, and over the last several months we’ve made cases against thirteen different people" said Sheriff Robert Dawson.

The drugs involved in cases are methamphetamine, marijuana, imitation and prescription drugs.

Dawson said his deputies made all the undercover drug buys as part of the investigation.

The Macon County Sheriff’s office completed the July 12th drug sweep in two hours with assistance from the Macon Police Department, the Missouri State Highway Patrol and the North Missouri Drug Task Force.

The Macon County Sheriff’s Office identifies the 16 suspects of Operation Heat Wave as:

William Cody Ziebarth, 18, Macon, for three counts of distributing a controlled substance near schools. Bond has been set at $75,000 cash only, and he remains in custody; with additional charges pending.

Deidre M. Pace, 18, Macon, for one count of distributing a controlled substance near schools  Bond has been set at $25,000 cash only, and she remains in custody.

Lenton Cruz Tillman, 40, Macon, for one count of delivery of a controlled substance near schools. Bond has been set at $25,000 cash only, and he remains in custody.

Theresa D. Miller, 59, Macon, for one count of possession of controlled substance and one count of unlawful use of drug paraphernalia. Bond has been set at $10,000 cash only, and she remains in custody.

April LaChance, 36, Macon, for one count of distribution of imitation controlled substance. Bond has been set at $4,500 cash only, and she remains in custody.

Andrew Romanetto, 23, Macon, for one count of distribution of an imitation controlled substance. Bond has been set at $4,500 cash only, and he remains in custody.

Mary Bocenstedt, 22, Macon, for one count of delivery of an imitation controlled substance. Bond has been set at $9,000 cash only, and she remains in custody.

Gordon Welch, 50, Macon, for one count of distribution of an imitation controlled substance. Bond has been set at $4,500 cash only, and he remains in custody; with additional charges pending.

Kirk T. Johnson, 23, Macon for one count of distributing a controlled substance near schools, and one count of delivery of an imitation controlled substance. Bond has been set at $25,000 cash only, and he remains in custody.

Dustin Ginther, 21, Macon, for one count of distributing controlled substance near schools, and one count of distributing up to 5 grams of marijuana. Bond has been set at $25,000 cash only, and he remains in custody.

Ryan J. Welch, 27, Macon, for one count of possession of less than 35 grams of marijuana and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. Ryan Welch was processed at the Macon County Jail and released on criminal summons pending his court date.

Melodie D. Paris, 23, Macon, for one count of possession of less than 35 grams of marijuana and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. Paris was processed at the Macon County Jail and released on criminal summons pending her court date.

Brenda (Short) Tate, 51, Macon, for one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. Tate was processed at the Macon County Jail and released on criminal summons pending her court date. 

Brady Brown,18, of Macon, has been charged with three counts of distributing marijuana up to 5 grams. Brown's bond has been set at $30,000 cash only. Brown is still in custody.

Samantha Slearey ,17 of Macon, has been charged with one count of distributing up to 5 grams of marijuana. Bond has been set at $10,000 cash only, and she remains in custody.
