OTTUMWA, IOWA -- The First Pentecostal Assembly of God Church in Ottumwa had world-renowned vocalist Ann Downing perform at their service Sunday evening.
Downing currently lives in Nashville, Tennessee and travels all over the world gracing audiences with her gospel singing.
And she is no stranger to Ottumwa. For nearly 50 years, Downing has been coming to Ottumwa to perform.
“I’ve been traveling for almost 50 years. This is what I wanted to do. I grew up on a cotton farm. I always wanted to sing professionally. Thank goodness I’m getting to do that. And I have won the Dove Award for female vocalist of the year. I'm in the Gospel Hall of Fame. I have CDs. I have DVD’s. I have a book. I have a website -- anndowning.com,” said Downing.
Each year Downing hosts Middle Tennessee Women’s Retreat (MTWR) which welcomes women of all denominations.
