WHAT CHEER, IOWA -- Saturday was the second day of the 124th Annual Keokuk County Fair in What Cheer, Iowa.
Starting at 12:30 was the Harness Horse Racing in the Grandstand. Those horses were not stopping for anything or anyone.
And the big events this weekend were the Figure 8 Races.
“Line up eight to ten cars. Then go ten laps in a figure eight pattern and they go across an intersection. The main thing is to finish the race. If you do that you've done good and if you finish first you're going to win some money,” said Earl McKay, Keokuk County Fair Board President.
McKay said he expects 50 to 60 cars to participate in the Figure 8 Races.
You still have time to visit the Keokuk County Fair. Tomorrow is the last day but there is plenty to do for the whole family.
There will be a petting zoo from noon until 3 p.m. and once again there will be Harness Horse Racing starting at 3:30 p.m.
