Seven arrested on felony drug charges in southeast Iowa

OTTUMWA, IA -- Several alleged drug dealers were arrested this weekend in Southeast Iowa.

According to the Wapello County Sheriff's Office, they received seven new inmates beginning on Friday, all wanted on drug charges.

On Saturday, 23-year-old Travis Jordan of Ottumwa, IA , was arrested on three warrants including possession with intent to distribute- less than 50 kg of marijuana, unauthorized possession of an offensive weapon, and possession of methamphetamine, a serious misdemeanor. He remains in the Wapello County Jail on a $10,000 cash-only bond.

On Friday, two suspects were brought into the Wapello County Jail on Wapello County warrants related to marijuana. They include:

-19 year old Dion Johnson, of Ottumwa, IA. He remains in the Wapello County Jail on a $100,000 cash-only bond. Jailers said he has three warrants, including one for three counts of delivery of marijuana, one warrant for conspiracy to deliver a schedule one substance- marijuana, and a warrant for ongoing criminal conduct.

-20 year old Rene Perez-Chaparro, of Ottumwa, IA. He remains in the Wapello County Jail on a $10,000 cash only bond. He has been charged with conspiracy to deliver a schedule one substance, marijuana.

Also on Friday, four suspects were arrested and transported to the Wapello County Jail on meth warrants. Fairfield Police said two of the suspects, 49 year old Virginia Kopp, and 60 year old Donald Essary, both of Fairfield, IA were arrested at 412 South 15th Street. They were arrested on Wapello County warrants for conspiracy to manufacture meth-more than five grams. They remain in the Wapello County Jail on $100,000 standard bonds.

Also arrested Friday on warrants for conspiracy to manufacture meth- more than five grams is Christopher Allensworth, 26, of Fairfield, IA, and Steven Grothe, 30 of Ottumwa, Iowa. They are being held in the Wapello County Jail on $100,000 standard bonds as well.
