KIRKSVILLE, MO -- Another chapter of the building that housed Wi-Fi Sensors has been written.
The once promising plant was set to bring in around 50 jobs, defaulted on its one million dollar loan from the state, and the building was sold Friday afternoon.
A little over a dozen people were at the courthouse for the auction as the Bank of Kirksville acquired the building for $1.4M.
They were the only bidders of the property that owed $55,000 in taxes in 2011.
The Bank of Kirksville will be responsible for the 2012 taxes on the building.
Wi-Fi Sensors opened back in July of 2009.
It effectively went out of business at the end of February 2011, according to a person in charge with the business licenses.
On top of the one million dollar state loan the company owed, they owed more than $300,000 unpaid interest and penalties.
