A Northeast Missouri boy is killed in ATV crash

ADAIR COUNTY, MO. -- The crash happened early Sunday evening on Highway B and Sand Creek Bottom Road, 5 miles southwest of Greentop, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol.

William Arrieta, 26, of Austin, Texas, was driving a 2008 Polaris Ranger when he lost control.


Arrieta overcorrected causing the all terrain vehicle to overturn. Two children were inside the ATV at the time of the crash. The ATV landed on top of all three of its occupants. Aiden Nevars, 6, of Austin, Texas, suffered minor injures.  Brody Schoonover, 7, of Kirksville, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Arrieta was transported to Northeast Regional Medical Center.
