Accused Cinema X Theater murderer pleads not guilty

OTTUMWA, IOWA -- An Ottumwa man accused of murder has pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder.

Bruce Pollard, 25, of Ottumwa, entered the plea last week after being charged in the death of Kenneth McDaniel, 70, also of Ottumwa.

McDaniel managed the Cinema X Theater in downtown Ottumwa.

According to police, McDaniel's body was found inside the theater on March 15th.

Police said in their report, that McDaniel died of injuries to the head and neck.

Pollard was charged Wednesday with the crime. He had already been in the Wapello County Jail charged with a series of armed robberies.
