MACON, MO -- It doesn't matter if you choose to wear boots or a black-tie, both will be welcomed at the Maples Repertory Theatre's annual event.
They're hosting their eighth annual Boots and Black Tie Fundraiser on Saturday.
This year's event will begin at 6:00 p.m in front of the royal theatre.
Everything from a silent and live auction to drinks and dinner will be provided.
The fundraiser accounts for about ten percent of the annual operating budget, as the theatre is hoping to raise around $30,000 thousand dollars
For the artistic director, his favorite part of the event is seeing the community come together.
"One of the things that's cool for me is just to see groups of our patrons come out," said Todd Davidson, of the Maples Repertory Theatre. "Some are dressed more casually and some really get dolled up, and it's really for seeing people comning together to support the theatre in this way."
The theatre's summer schedule has about 40 summer shows, with the first show taking place June 22nd.
