Unionville man survives ATV accident

UNIONVILLE, MISSOURI -- A Putnam county man escaped serious injury in an ATV crash this morning.

The crash occurred on Highway 5 about four miles north of Unionville.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Derrek Gilworth, 41, of Unionville, was spraying brush along the right of way, when the ATV he was riding overturned; throwing him off the vehicle.

Gilworth was taken to Putnam county hospital, and then flown by Air Evac to Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville, where he was treated and released.
