The principal of OHS, Mark Hanson,  recognized the 12 Class Valedictorians who graduated with a 4.0 G.P.A.

“I'm excited and mixed emotions -- nervous you know --everything that comes along with it,” said Ashley Salgado, 2012 OHS graduate.

“Woo yeah! I’m graduating,” exclaimed Ali Salter, 2012 OHS graduate.

The Ottumwa Community Schools Superintendent, Davis Eidahl, spoke to the graduating class.

“This class is kind of special because they have accomplished a lot of things in their four years at Ottumwa High School. And they are graduating today with the highest percent of students to ever graduate in the previous 10, 15 years,” said Superintendent Eidahl.

Eidahl added that this class of students has led the school to eight conference championships.
