CLARK CO., MO. -- A Car Accident in Northeast Missouri kills two people from Southeast Iowa.

The crash Happened Wednesday night in Clark County, Mo., three miles north of Wayland, on Routes B and C.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Dan King, 42, of Alexandria, Mo., was northbound on Route B, when a car driven by Blaine Dehart, 87, of Keosauqua, Iowa, was westbound on Route C and failed to yield.

King’s vehicle slammed into the driver side of Dehart’s vehicle. The impact caused the two vehicles to travel off of Route B and into a ditch.

Dehart’s 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix came to rest on its top. King’s 2000 Chevrolet pickup landed on its driver’s side on top of Dehart’s car.

Dehart and his passenger Gertrude Dubois, 49, also of Keosauqua, was pronounced dead at the scene by Clark County Coroner, Edwin Wilson.

King suffered moderate injuries from the accident and was flown by Air Evac to Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Ill.

The Clark County Sheriff’s Office, Clark County Ambulance, Clark County Rescue and Wayland Fire Department all assisted the Missouri State Highway Patrol in the investigation.

This is Troop B’s 11th and 12th fatality for 2012.
