Jewelry stealing charges not so glitzy

KIRKSVILLE, MO. -- A northeast Missouri couple was arrested this week.

The two are accused of stealing thousands of dollars worth of jewelry.

Matthew Brown, 23, and Sarah Platz, 19, both of Kirksville, are charged with felony counts of burglary and stealing.

According to court papers, the couple broke into a home on Route B in Adair County and took jewelry valued at nearly $9,000.

Investigators said some of the items taken were sold by the couple following the theft.
