MEMPHIS, MO -- Area junior high and high school kids got an opportunity to show off a year's worth of work Friday evening.

Students in grades 7-12 showcased art Friday, as the Scotland County Art Department hosted the 4th annual art show.

There are a variety different forms of art from paintings, charcoals, 3D creations and more were included.

The art department displayed around 200 pieces of work from students.

Although they won't have as many pieces of art as they've had in the past year's, the art teacher is pleased with what the kids have to offer this year.

"I think this year we got a lot a better quality of work," said Dustin Harper, the Scotland Co. Jr./Sr. art teacher.  "The kids spent a lot more time and they got to enjoy the process since we were on a different schedule, so I think the quality is a lot better than quantity."

The judge for Friday's art show traveled from St. Louis to help present the awards.
