MARCELINE, MO. -- The Marceline Police Department is investigating an alleged sexual assault that happened Wednesday evening.

According to a news release, first responders answered a call for help around 5 p.m. Wednesday on West California Street in Marceline, Mo.  The call came in as an alleged sexual assault of a woman.

At this time, the police department believes it is an isolated incident and not a random act. As soon as the department has a positive description of the suspect, they said they will release it.
