Calvin E. Craig, 51, Kirksville
KIRKSVILLE, MO -- A Kirksville man is behind bars, after being arrested for several local burglaries.
Calvin E. Craig, 51, is charged with two counts of second-degree burglary and three counts of theft/stealing.
On May 8, the victim came home and confronted Craig who was coming out of the victim’s home carrying a laptop computer.
The victim said he grabbed his laptop and tried to hold onto Craig and call the police.
Craig was able to get away, and he rode off on his bicycle.
Police later caught up with Craig and arrested him.
Authorities were provided with information that there were other stolen items at Craig’s home.
Police located several items that had been reported stolen.
Later that day, officers were dispatched to another Kirksville home for a reported burglary.
The victims said someone broke into their apartment and stole their Nintendo 64 gaming system, two controllers and 11 games.
They were also missing a laptop computer, power cord and CD collection.
Authorities then went to another home where a woman told them Craig rode up on his bike and brought the items into her home.
Craig is being held in the Adair County Jail on $25,000 cash-only bond.
