OTTUMWA, IOWA --
The Salvation Army Thrift Store is currently getting a bit of a facelift.

Last week a new manager was hired; Jennifer Sanford comes from the Goodwill store in Fairfield where she was the assistant manager.

She hopes to bring a fresh, young perspective to the Ottumwa thrift store and she’s starting with changing a few things.

“They would price everything separately which takes a really long time. We're going to go to a more structured --where all shirts are one price and all things of whatever kind are you know uniform, more uniform,” said Sanford.

Volunteers have been hard at work painting walls and sorting through donations. Sanford hopes the store will be ready to open its doors in the next couple of weeks. There will be a grand opening celebration when the day arrives.

Donations are still being accepted even though the store is currently closed. The profit the store makes goes directly to help fund Meals on Wheels for seniors.
