KIRKSVILLE, MO -- In honor of our veteran’s, American Legion Auxiliary McDougall Post #20 will be having their annual poppy sale on Saturday May 19th from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. They will be out in the community at local businesses collecting donations in exchange for poppy flowers.

Last year, nearly eight-hundred dollars was raised and they hope to exceed that amount this year. The donated money helps buy wheelchairs, specialized equipment at clinics, utility coverage, and gas money for transportation to the doctor. If any family needs help, that’s what the money is for.

The Ladies have been doing this for years now and are very proud. They have once again decorated the Shelter Insurance window in Downtown Kirksville with poppy flowers, pictures, and memories.

If you see the girl’s state, legion men, or auxiliary women out, be sure to show your appreciation and make a donation if possible.
