SCHUYLER COUNTY, MO. -- A Schuyler County woman avoids prison time in an incident that resulted in serious injuries to a toddler.

Amber White, 22, of Downing had pleaded guilty to one count of endangering the welfare of a child. She was sentenced to five years in prison, with that sentence suspended. She was placed on five years probation.

According to court papers, the toddler suffered serious injuries, including a broken bone and numerous bites, bruises and abrasions.
