KIRKSVILLE, MO -- Do you know somebody who has been instrumental in the livestock industry across Northeast Missouri? Applications are now being accepted for the 2012 Northeast Missouri Livestock Person of the Year, who will be awarded and honored at this year’s livestock symposium.

The Missouri Livestock Symposium is scheduled for Dec. 7 and 8, 2012, in Kirksville. Since 2003, one person has been inducted each year into the Missouri Livestock Hall of Fame.

“This hall of fame inductee is going to be somebody who has been instrumental in the livestock industry in Northeast Missouri. It will be somebody that is well known for their abilities with livestock production but also has contributed greatly to the livestock industry and probably beyond as well,” said University of Missouri Extension Office Livestock Specialist Bruce Lane.

Applications are open to all Northeast Missouri residents and must be received no later than 5 p.m. on May 1. Applications can be picked up in person at any University of Missouri Extension office or click here. For more information, call (660) 665-9866.
