KIRKSVILLE, MO -- Kirksville Republican Nate Walker made it official Wednesday, filing to run for the seat now held by State Representative Zachary Wyatt of Novinger.

Walker also withdrew his name for the race for associate commissioner in Adair County.

That leaves Democrat, Carson Adams, on the ballot for one of the seats on the county commission.

Adair County Clerk Sandy Collop says she has notified Adair County Republican Chairman Brian Noe that Walker has withdrawn from the commissioner's race.

The Republican Party now has two weeks for its nominating committee to meet and a total of 28 days for a new candidate, nominated by the county party, to file with the county clerk.

That would give the county Republican Party until May 8th for a new candidate to file to run against incumbent Democrat Carson Adams.
