MACON, MO. -- Several members made a joyful noise unto the Lord on Easter Sunday at the historic Bethel AME Church in Macon, Mo.
During the service, Rev. May Hall gave a dramatic interpretation of how Jesus Christ rose from the tomb.
The service also included several hand-clapping, feet-stomping, praise songs from the choir.
The congregation said a special guest was in attendance, Sister Carol. Even though she is legally blind, she walked in the door and immediately recognized the choir was singing one of her favorite praise songs. She proceeded to sway down the aisle, as she found her seat. Church members said she's a lifelong member that doesn't get to come often now that she lives in a nursing home.
The congregation also participated in Holy Communion, and then three youths were baptized and two other members rededicated their life to Christ.
