OSKALOOSA, IOWA -- An Ottumwa man is in jail on charges of sexual abuse and incest.

Rodney Minter, 49, was arrested Tuesday and is charged with two counts of sexual abuse and one count of incest. Minter's arrest stemmed from an investigation that revealed Minter performed and received sexual acts from children under the age of 12, according to a press release from the Oskaloosa Police Department. The acts occurred between the years of 1997 and 2006.

In Iowa, sexual abuse is a Class B Felony and punishable by up to 25 years in prison and/or a $25,000 fine. Incest is a Class D Felony punishable by up to five years in prison and/or a $5,000 fine.

Minter is being held in the Mahaska County Jail on a $25,000 bond.
