With the turn of the calendar to April, the focus of this year's housing market becomes more important.

This year, economists say could be the strongest in several years.

Nationally, this spring and into the summer looks to be one very positive for the housing market, but how about here locally? 

A local realtor agrees that they're optimistic about the coming months.

There’s a lot of entrepreneurs’ putting together some projects, said Carmen Stanton, with Century 21 in Kirksville.

“It seems things are busy. Our phones are ringing off the hook. March was really busy and we're very excited about the potential this year holds.”

It’s only been three months into the year, so projections number can't yet be determined for the area.
