Now accepting donations
OTTUMWA, IOWA -- The Bridgeview Center will be hosting its first annual “Pages for Pennies” book sale this May. It will be benefiting the Bridgeview Center and Friends of the Ottumwa Public Library.
Donations can be dropped off now through May 11 just inside the Bridge View Center. There are barrels marked with “Donation” signs on them.
"It's kind of drawing its inspiration from the old YWMCI book sale from years ago in Ottumwa. We haven't had one quite like that so some board members from the Bridge View Board of Directors decided ‘hey why don't we bring that back,’ have it be a fundraiser for Bridge View but also the friends of the Ottumwa Public Library and bring both of our causes together,” says Mark Eckman, Director of Ottumwa Area Convention and Visitors Bureau.
Donations are already starting to pile up with a wide variety of selections.
“It's a book sale but people should also know that we're accepting the old LP’s, DVD’s, CD’s, such as this one, and then also magazines. (We’ll take) any kind of material that's in good to fair shape. We don't want anything that's too bent up,” said Eckman.
The Pages for Pennies book sale will be going on May 18, 19, and 20 at the Bridgeview Center.
