FAIRFIELD, IOWA -- One Southeast Iowa town will hit the small screen this weekend.
The Oprah Winfrey Network will run a show entitled "Most Unusual Towns" this Sunday evening. Oprah visited Fairfield in October to learn more about transcendental meditation.
She spoke with teachers, students and administration and was given a tour by Fairfield Mayor Ed Malloy.
"You get a little star struck I think when you meet someone like that, but she's very genuine, she's a very friendly person, she was very, very impressed," he said. "I think she discovered something she wasn't expecting to find, which is pretty rare for Oprah, given all her experiences, but I think it'll have a good effect for Fairfield, from a tourism standpoint, because it will I think raise people's curiosity about what is happening here and people will come."
Oprah's crews were back in Fairfield over the weekend to get more footage of the Maharishi University campus, where Oprah took part in a meditation activity.
The episode airs from 8-9 p.m. CT on the OWN Network.
