Man tased after alleged assault with a cop

MACON, MO. -- A Macon police officer has used his taser gun on a man that allegedly assaulted the officer during a domestic disturbance call.

The incident happened Sunday at a residence in the 200 block of North Allen.

Larry Worthington, 46, of Macon, Mo. is in the county jail charged with felony assault on a law enforcement officer.

According to court papers, when the officer approached Worthington to talk to him, he went at the officer swinging his fists.
   
At that point the officer tased him, striking Worthington in the chest area. Worthington kept charging at the officer striking her several times with his fists.
 
Worthington was taken into custody when another officer arrived on the scene.

Police say that Worthington kept threatening to kill the asault victim, while being taken into custody.
    
Worthington is in the Macon County Jail on a $45,000 cash only bond.   
                                                   
He is scheduled to make his initial court appearance March 15.
