QUEEN CITY, MO. -- One Heartland town decided to get a head start on their St. Patrick's Day celebrations.

With the sun shining bright Saturday, the streets of Queen City were lit up with green and candy, as residents participated in the 9th Annual St. Patrick's Day Parade. Tractors, horses, and area fire trucks were all apart of the festivities.

"It's just good old Irish fun and it's you know a small community like this, with less and less places for people to meet," said Kelly Lovecamp, the parade chairperson.  "It's unlike the old days where we had lots of festivals in the community. It's just one more time for everyone to get together and share a good laugh."

Lovecamp said every year, the parade keeps getting bigger and bigger. Queen City will have their St. Patrick's Day Parade the Saturday before the holiday next year as well. Lovecamp invites everyone in the Heartland to join in on the fun.
