Four arrested in string of Ottumwa robberies

OTTUMWA, IOWA -- Two additional arrests were made in the investigation of several burglaries in the Ottumwa area.

Clifford Lynn McNeal, 49, of Ottumwa was arrested Tuesday and charged with Theft in the First Degree, a Class C Felony, Fraudulent Practices in the Second Degree, a Class D Felony and Ongoing Criminal Conduct, a Class B Felony. McNeal posted a $25,000 cash only bond and was released from custody.

Also arrested was Lynn Renee Wey, 53, of Ottumwa. Wey is charged with Aiding and Abetting/Joint Criminal Conduct - Theft in the First Degree, a Class C Felony, Aiding and Abetting/Joint Criminal Conduct - Attempted Burglary in the Second Degree, a Class D Felony and Aiding and Abetting/Joint Criminal Conduct - Burglary in the Third Degree, also a Class D Felony. Wey is currently in the Wapello County Jail on a $10,000 cash only bond.

McNeal and Wey make the third and fourth arrests in the investigation that began in June 2011. Officers from the Ottumwa Police Department located a stolen truck filled with property taken from a residential burglary in Ottumwa. Officers also found stolen property on an enclosed cargo trailer after they executed a search warrant.

In October 2011, John Michael Wey, 42, of Ottumwa was arrested and charged with Theft in the Second Degree and Possession of Burglary Tools. Wey is currently in the Wapello County Jail on a $60,000 cash bond.

And in December 2011, Michael Ray Jones, 39, of Blakesburg was arrested and charged with Aiding and Abetting/Joint Criminal Conduct Degree Theft, Aiding and Abetting/Joint Criminal Conduct Third Degree Burglary and Aiding and Abetting/Joint Criminal Conduct Attempted Second Degree Burglary. Jones posted a $5,000 bond and was released from custody.
