Bloomfield man pleads guilty, awaits sentencing

BLOOMFIELD, IOWA -- A sentencing date has been set in the case of a Bloomfield man charged with kidnapping and sexual abuse.

James Christopher Kozak, 21, pled guilty to lesser charges at a plea hearing on Wednesday. He pled guilty to one count of intimidation with a firearm and one count of assault with an intent to commit sexual assault.

Kozak will receive his sentence on April 18th.

Kozak was arrested in May 2011 as a result of a domestic violence complaint.

After Wednesday's hearing, he was released to the department of corrections until sentencing.
