The building is being rebuilt after fire damage
BLOOMFIELD, IA -- For Tuesday’s Facebook Story of the Day, viewers wanted to know about the status of the Southfork Restaurant in Bloomfield.
The restaurant caught on fire several months ago and is still under construction.
“There a lot of rumors flying around about the restaurant,” a Southfork Motel staff member said.
Currently, construction workers are finishing up the outside of the building.
“She sucked on her cigarette and it got real red and the wind blew it off and there was a stack of cardboard right outside, and it blew in under that cardboard and never knew it,” describes construction worker Levi Miller of the fire.
Miller said that 10 minutes later, the building started to burn.
“No one inside the restaurant knew it was on fire until cars passing by on the road saw it burning on the outside,” says Miller.
Miller is unsure of when the restaurant construction will be complete but thinks it will be at least 6 months.
