KIRKSVILLE, MO. -- Two longtime volunteers from northeast Missouri are recognized for their selfless service in the community.

On Monday night, Harold and Becky Osborn of Kirksville were named this year's Hall of Fame award winners for their decades of leadership within the United Way of Adair County/Northeast Missouri.

The Osborns said they were speechless, thunderstruck and completely surprised when the announcement was made at the annual dinner and meeting in Kirksville.

Both have served on the boards of various United Way agencies, they've given their time and talents to many local agencies and both helped create, and then lead, the Retiree Division for the United Way campaign for several years.

The money raised by the local United Way is used to fund 13 partner agencies.
