OTTUMWA, IOWA -- Two Ottumwa youths are in jail after a search warrant on their residence yielded a pound of high grade marijuana and other items related to marijuana distribution.
Roger Del Rio Macias-Kaharik, 20, and Ashley Lynn Dennison, 19, both of Ottumwa, were arrested Monday, according to a release from the Southeast Iowa Inter-Agency Drug Task Force.
Macias-Kaharik is charged with two counts of Distribution to Persons Under the Age of 18, a Class "B" Felony. Officers determined in the course of their investigation that Macias-Kaharik was selling marijuana to two Ottumwa High School students, aged 14 and 17. If convicted, the felony carries a penalty of up to five years in prison.
Dennison is charged with Possession of Marijuana, a serious misdemeanor.
The search warrant was executed on February 9 by the Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement, Southeast Iowa Inter-Agency Drug Task Force and the Ottumwa Police Department.
