Fugitive found in Lewis County

CANTON, MO. -- A fugitive wanted in Cook County Illinois has been taken into custody in Lewis County.

According to the Lewis County Sheriff's Office, Ronald Moore, 42, of Canton, Mo. was arrested Friday in Canton. Moore was wanted for escape-failure to comply with electronic monitoring.

Authorities said Moore had been residing in Lewis County for quite some time. They were alerted on Friday that he was hiding in a residence on White Street.  Once they received the tip, authorities said they surrounded the home and then found Moore hiding in the attic.

Moore currently awaits extradition to Illinois.
