FAIRFIELD, IOWA -- The Fairfield Chamber of Commerce will once again be hosting a legislative forum Saturday morning at the Best Western in Fairfield.
A forum was held in February at the same location.
The forum gives the community, as well as local high school students, the opportunity to get involved in the political process. Members of the chamber, as well as community members are encouraged to ask the state representatives questions about what is being discussed and worked on at the state capitol in Des Moines.
KTVO spoke with Chamber Executive Director Tracy Vance Friday afternoon. According to Vance, a wide range of issues will once again be discussed.
"We will be talking about various issues including commercial property tax legislation. We have two competing bills, a house version and a senate version; and those are going through now. So I am sure there will be a lot of interest from our members where that is at and where our local legislatures think that will go," said Vance.
Like the last forum, a breakfast will be served. The cost of the breakfast is $12. Anyone from the community is invited to attend.
The event will start at 7:30 a.m. and last until 9:00 a.m.
