Planning ahead

OTTUMWA, IA -- Ottumwa City Council Members and City Administrators met tonight to discuss the goals and priorities for the next 2 years.

A total of 6 new initiatives were voted on by council members. A couple of them include evaluating the one-way streets downtown and making them into two-way streets and adding a lazy river to The Beach.

“It’s really important to the staff to know what the council priorities are so we can focus on them. And then to also be held accountable for what was accomplished of what wasn’t accomplished, and it really helps for everybody to know these are our priorities,” says Director of the Institute of Public Affairs at the University of Iowa Jeff Schott.

There will be a continuation of this meeting on March 1 at 5 p.m. at the Bridgeview Center.
