BURLINGTON, IOWA -- An Exline man sits in the Des Moines County Jail on drug charges.
Byron Dean Foster made his initial appearance in Des Moines County District Court Tuesday on two counts of being in possession of precursors to meth production and one count of eluding.
Court papers say that on January 17, Burlington Police attempted to pull a vehicle being driven by Foster over for having expired tags.
The probable cause statement says as Foster attempted to flee, police observed him throwing items from the vehicle.
These items and others found later in the vehicle were identified as components used in the production of meth.
Foster left the vehicle to flee on foot but was apprehended a few minutes later.
Foster remains in custody in Des Moines County.
His bond has been set at $25,000 cash only for each of the three counts.
