Quick and painless meeting

OTTUMWA -- Tuesday evening the Ottumwa City Council met to discuss the many issues that were on the agenda.

One of the main issues discussed was the North Fire Station Remodeling Project.

“The bathrooms on the second floor need to be fixed.  They are leaking onto the Assistant Chief’s desk on the first floor,” says Fire Chief Tony Miller.

Kids are coming to the station on field trips and some can’t come inside because it is not handicap accessible. Chief Miller stressed this point.

“Moving the improvements to next winter and keeping the work in-house…going to the Parks Department perhaps to do that would save money,” suggested Council Member John Richards.

Other members were did not support Richards’ idea.

Other issues that were discussed were approving the plans for City Hall lights and fixtures replacements, approving the purchase of GPS Equipment for the Engineering Department, and approving the plans on the Wildwood Drive Reconstruction Project.

All issues on the agenda were passed.
