Police have a Kirksville woman in custody who they accuse of stealing from Walmart.

According to the Adair County Sheriff's Office, Sheila Rae Risher, 49, has been charged with the class C felony of stealing.

Court documents indicate that Walmart associates believe Risher has stolen property from the store on several occasions over the span of three months. They said they believe she would take the labels off of inexpensive items and then place them on more expensive items, such as lithium batteries, Coleman fuel, toys, games, and clothing.

The associates claim Risher has obtained merchandise valued at more than $800, while only paying $50.

After reviewing surveillance video and documentation, police arrested her. She has been in the Adair County Jail since Jan. 22, on a $25,000 cash only bond.
