KIRKSVILLE, MO. -- Two Kirksville residents are behind bars after being accused of cooking meth.
According to the Adair County Sheriff's Office, 27-year-old Autumn Cary and 48-year-old Adam Burhop are both being held in the Adair County Jail on a $75, 000 cash only bond.
Cary has been charged with two felonies including manufacturing a controlled substance, and two counts of possession of a controlled substance. Burhop has been charged with the class B felony of manufacturing a controlled substance.
According to court documents, police were led to their residence on Lucky Six Trailer Court Friday after they received a tip from a retailer that the duo buys starter fluid everyday.
Upon arriving, police said they smelled ether coming from the couple's trailer. Inside, police said they found coffee filters that tested positive for methamphetamine along with two different types of pills, which Cary said she was holding for a friend.
