Two Kirksville residents injured in Randolph County accident

CAIRO, MO. -- An accident in Randolph County sends two people to the hospital.

The accident happened near US 63 and Route K in Cairo.  According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a dump truck was crossing the northbound lanes of US 63 when it was struck in the side by a passenger vehicle.

In that vehicle was Marilyn and Randall Dodsworth, both of Kirksville, Mo. They were transported by ambulance to University Hospital in Columbia.  Randall's injuries were serious, while Marilyn's were minor.  Both were wearing seat belts at the time of the accident.

The driver of the dump truck, Raymond Maag, of Moberly, was not injured in the accident.
